These are tropical boots, commonly known as "Okinawa boots," that were issued to the U.S. military in very small numbers in the 1950s. The shape is very similar to WWII 2 buckle boots, but the body is made of OD canvas and there are two holes on both boots for drainage. The sole is made by LUG and is hard, and they are called "Okinawa boots" because they were developed during trials in Okinawa in the 1950s. The right buckle has a size 10 and the left buckle has a size 10 1/2, the maker's name, and 1951 stamped on it. These boots have features that lead to later jungle boots, and are very rare. The right one has a tear mark around the ankle, which has been repaired by hand sewing. The inside of the buckle is also cracked and needs to be repaired. The left one is in a beautiful condition with less feeling of wear compared to the other. The soles of both boots are clean. The left boot has no major damage, but needs maintenance. There is a possibility that the sole may come off, so this item is for those who can take care of it. The leather has some color baldness, but this will not be noticeable if you apply shoe cream to the leather.
