The same pattern as the previous CISO cut boonie hat made in Okinawa will be used and the product specifications will remain the same. We have prepared several actual boonie hats, and took precise measurements of the details and even the direction of the fabric used. We have used modern technology to reproduce the boonie hat to the best of our ability, including the place of production.

The hat is a reproduction of a common CISO cut manufactured by the CISO (Counterinsurgency Support Office) that existed in Okinawa at the time of the Vietnam War. The same fabric used for the jacket and trousers is used and manufactured in Okinawa, where the CISO existed at the time, including the reproduction of the historical background. The brim length is 6.5mm, which is not too long. The brim has a shape-memory wire at the end of it, which was used in some lots at that time. Therefore, you can wear it in any shape you like. In addition, the size tag in red letters on a white background, which was used for some Okinawan-made products at that time, has been reproduced. The white size tag is a civilian item that was widely distributed in Japan in the 1960s, and was not custom-made for boonie hats, shirts, or trousers. The texture of the fabric and the sewing conditions have been reproduced as much as possible from the actual product, making this the ultimate reissue. The stitching on the brim is unequal in width between the top and bottom, reproducing the rough finish of those days. Our fabric will fade and gradually turn white like the original. You will not notice it right away, but it will age with repeated use, washing, and exposure to the sun. It may gradually yellow after use, but will eventually turn white. The fabric will change over time, but this is not a product defect.

We inspect our products, but in the unlikely event that a product is defective, we will replace it with an equivalent product or refund your money after we have confirmed the defect. Our cotton fabric will shrink. The horizontal shrinkage is -0.8% and the vertical shrinkage is -2%. Shrinkage will be reduced by stretching it gently when it is wet.
