This is a late war tiger stripe shirt that began to be used around the early 1970s. This pattern was mainly used by the South Vietnamese Marine Corps and Special Forces. The thin fabric is a characteristic of this shirt, and this one is made of ripstop fabric. It dries easily and is thought to have been improved to a thinner Tiger Stripe. The country of production is not precisely known, and from the state of the pattern, it is assumed to be Vietnam or its surrounding countries, not Japan.

The shirt has been converted to short sleeves and patches have been sewn on. The patches are all sewn on for reproduction purposes, with the exception of a few patches that have been reprinted. The overall color is faded, giving the impression of a slightly mottled white, but the color is still there. There are no outstanding repairs and no stains or damage. It is assumed that this item was probably sold as a movie costume to a local Vietnamese movie company after the war. It is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
