This item is based on the OG-107 Utility Shirt (Sateen Shirt) adopted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and has a rare USMC (U.S. Marine Corps) stencil + EGA mark on the breast pocket. The tag indicates that this is an original 1967 contract shirt (DSA 100-67-C-3716 / made by Foster Industries, Inc. This piece has been custom made with short sleeves by a soldier, and is considered to be a practical modification to cope with the tropical climate of South Vietnam. Compared to the usual long-sleeved type, there are fewer of these in existence, and this piece gives a sense of the field use of the time. It is assumed that it was probably custom-made on the premise that it would be worn at a base, etc.
