This is a used US Navy flight jacket G-1 from a 1950s-60s lot. The exact age and size is unknown as the label is unreadable. It is in Very Used condition with a lot of use, tears and wear.

The Navy's G-1 was developed in the 1930s and was a flight jacket worn primarily by fighter pilots in the Marine Corps as well as the U.S. Navy, and began to be used in earnest in the 1940s, with the A-2 of the U.S. Army Air Corps, which was its rival, being active during the same period. It is a leather flight jacket with a long history, having been used until the 1970s. The Army was involved in the development of this jacket, but as a result, it was used by the Navy and Marine Corps. It was officially adopted again in 1984 due to high demand.

This item is one of the first lots used in the relatively early years. The leather is in good condition and needs care. The zipper is damaged. The lining is also torn and in poor condition. The top of the back is nearly pierced. The edges of the boa are also worn. The condition shows that it was actually used. The name of the person who originally used it is handwritten on it. The condition is not good, but it is a very valuable piece. There is wear on the wool rim as well, but it is in relatively clean condition. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand that this is a used item and cannot be returned.
