This is an actual A-2 jacket, a leather flight jacket of the U.S. Army Air Corps, used during WWII in the 1940s. It still has the bomber squadron patch and the user's name.
The A-2 was developed as a light-zone flight jacket and was intended for summer use. The A-2 was manufactured by a number of manufacturers at the time, and this one is made by PERRY SPORTSWEAR inc and has a CROWN zipper. The size is 40, which is relatively large. The squadron patches are actual patches from that time and first time attached as well as the name. The lining is relatively good considering the condition of the A-2, but there are some wear and tear at the neck and near the cuffs, so care should be taken when wearing. Compared to the condition of the jacket's interior, the ribs are all in good condition and can be worn as is with minimal insect damage. The leather is relatively light and in very good condition, although there is some fading. The color is relatively light brown, not dark brown. The zipper is movable, but needs to be repaired due to a tear in the mating area. As it is, it cannot be closed perfectly. Overall, we can say that it is in good condition, but with repair and maintenance, it can be worn for a longer period of time. It is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
